What is roaming and how does it work?

Anytime you go abroad and use your mobile phone you incur charges.
When you enter a new country your phone connects to the local phone network(s), this is called roaming. The new operator (visited network) will now handle the calls you make and receive. Rather than charging you for their services the new operator charges your home operator (your home network, e.g. O2, Orange UK) who passes this expense onto you on your next bill. You could find yourself paying up to £2 a minute just to receive a call while you are abroad.   

Can the Sim4Business SIM card be used in the UK?

Yes it can. Because it is a roaming SIM it will roam between all the UK networks to give you the best coverage. Prices for using it in the UK can be found here – Rates Calculator

Can I use my Sim4Business SIM in more than one country?

Yes - Your Sim4Business SIM can be used in 115 countries and you can call and text anywhere in the world
 
How much does it cost to use abroad?

Using the Sim4Business SIM card service abroad will save you hundreds of dollars in roaming charges. To see how much you can save, check the Rates Calculator by simply entering the name of the country to which you are travelling.

What is a PIN or PUK codes?  

As with all mobile phone SIM cards, PIN codes are used for your safety. They allow you to access your SIM and protect its use from others. When you receive your Sim4Business SIM you must enter a PIN code to unlock it before you can use it. Pin codes are provided just in case you enter the incorrect PIN code more than 3 times. If you do, your phone will 'lock' you out for security reasons and only upon entry of your PUK code will it be unlocked for you to enter the correct PIN code.

What mobile number will I receive with my new Sim4Business SIM?

The SIM card originates in the UK. You will receive a UK mobile number, starting with +4478.  We can also provide European and US landline numbers free of charge.

Can I keep my UK mobile number?

No, unfortunately international number portability is not possible. However you will be able to divert your existing mobile number to the Sim4Business SIM while travelling.

Do I have voicemail on my Sim4Business SIM?

Yes - Your Sim4Business SIM service includes full voicemail facilities.

When do the charges start?

You will start to pay once the call is connected.

Will it be expensive for others to call me?      

No - Calls made to your Sim4Business SIM number will pay no more than 19p per minute at peak times from a BT landline.

What is adding credit?

Adding credit is the mechanism for adding calling credit to your phone. When you run low on credit you will automatically receive an SMS message warning you that you need to add more credit to continue making calls and sending text messages. The top-up service is available on our Sim4Business website.

What is a monthly line rental fee?

Sim4Business charges a monthly line rental fee of US$2.00.  This fee is taken on a monthly basis while you are using the Sim4Business service.

Can I keep my Sim4Business SIM and use it again?

Yes - You can use your Sim4Business SIM in as many different countries as we have coverage. The SIM card, together with any credit, will not expire as long as the monthly rental fee is paid.

What will appear on my card statement?

The name of the transaction on your card statement will be Sim4Business
